A motivated and engaged patient is more likely to stay with the study, so the Synexus team recognise and appreciate their participation.

Patients are often picked up and taken home by a local taxi service or we can reimburse travel expenses. We will also recommend that a small patient reimbursement fee is submitted to the Ethics Committee to cover time and inconvenience, if this is appropriate within local practice.

We develop study-specific retention plans when needed but our main retention strategy for all studies is to maintain close interaction with both patients and the primary care provider. We ensure patients feel valued, are kept informed, have frequent contacts irrespective of the length of time between study visits and receive excellent closure at the end of the study.

This robust patient-centric approach contributes significantly to the efficient running of the trial by minimising missed appointments and patient drop-out.
