Claire Lyons appointed as Feasibility Manager at Synexus
Claire Lyons has been appointed Feasibility Manager at Synexus, where she will contribute to furthering its Business Development and Feasibility systems and processes. The role will involve close liaison with Synexus’ Projects Team. Synexus, which is based in Chorley, is the largest multinational company in the recruitment and running of late-stage clinical trials.
Claire is a Six Sigma Greenbelt and has a strong analytical background in chemistry. She joins from Sanofi-Aventis where she was a Senior Scientist with responsibility for project management, KPI reporting, resource management and planning. Claire also has extensive technical writing experience.
Claire holds an MChem (Hons) in Chemistry and is qualified in First Line Management from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Synexus is the only organisation which undertakes a detailed feasibility study of every clinical trial, and it does so even before providing a cost estimate for each of its clients. A detailed feasibility analysis means Synexus can determine how many patients can be randomised in each of its hub centres. It allows Synexus to establish what can and cannot be achieved and, where there are problems, to suggest alternative strategies that will meet its clients’ needs.
This preliminary process is fundamental for assessing a project’s viability and for optimising recruitment techniques for each clinical trial. The Synexus feasibility study, therefore, substantially reduces the amount of time and cost of a clinical trial.
Synexus was recently taken over by Lyceum Capital. Significant funds injected by this private equity group will allow Synexus to complete its international rollout plans rapidly and provide customers with a truly competitive offering. Claire will help to further strengthen Synexus’ operational efficiency on a global scale in line with this projected growth.
Michael Fort, CEO of Synexus, comments: “Claire’s appointment is an important step in Synexus’ plans to expand globally and offer the most professional service. Claire will improve further our business development systems and processes ensuring that clients achieve their goals.”
