The Company

Synexus’ origins date back to 1992, when Dr Ian Smith (presently Medical Director), then a practising GP, bought the house next door to his surgery to provide a dedicated clinical trials centre - the first of its kind in the world. This became the Edgebright Partnership. Synexus was formed in 1998 following the merger of Edgebright and the clinical trials division of AEA Technology plc.

Ownership

  • In 2005, Synexus was listed on the London Stock Exchange's AIM
  • In 2007, following the acceptance of a cash offer, Synexus was taken private by Lyceum Capital.
Synexus is now financed through a combination of private equity from Lyceum and management equity. The new financial structure, and continuing investment by Lyceum has allowed the company to continue its global expansion and to operate across a broader range of therapeutic areas.
