Following the recent announcement from Manchester-based Synexus that they had randomised 2,700 patients in just ten months for an osteoporosis study, the company has once again demonstrated that it is possible to recruit the agreed number of patients within the study deadline by recruiting 87% of patients to another study for the same therapeutic area.
Synexus, the world's largest multi-national company dedicated to the recruitment and running of clinical trials supports the recent call to include more elderly people in clinical trials. Synexus' Dedicated Recruitment Centres across the UK and overseas, have been successfully recruiting older people to their trials for some time now and are keen to see this trend continue.
It took clinical trial experts Synexus, just ten months to carry out 52,000 DEXA scans and randomise over 2,700 patients across twelve of their UK, European and African dedicated research centres.
Following her appointment in 2009 as Operations Manager for Hungary, Dr Erika Nemeth has been promoted to Country Manager as Synexus increases capacity in its Hungarian operations.

Following their recent announcement of the deal to acquire German company, ClinPharm, Manchester-based Synexus is celebrating the end of 2009 with the news that the acquisition has now been finalised. This increases the number of Synexus dedicated research centres to twenty-six.
