Synexus slashes Phase II trial times
Michael Fort CEO of Synexus explains; "Because the numbers for Phase II trials are relatively small - usually less than 500 - we are easily able to recruit such numbers to our hubsites. This means that the pharma or CRO does not have to go out find, recruit and sign up hundreds of doctors. They only have to sign one contract and we are up and running. We have just completed two Phase II studies for two different pharma companies and reduced the projected time by six months in one case and four months in the other."
Pharma companies are extremely keen to speed up development times firstly to eliminate compounds which are not going to make it and secondly to bring those that are to market as quickly as possible. Phase II outcomes are particularly crucial in the go, no go decision as the huge resources for the next step can then be allocated accordingly.
Synexus with its own hubsites across the world is able to cover a wide range of therapy areas including studies demanding treatment naïve patients.
Synexus currently has more than ten thousand patients enrolled in clinical trials across the world. It expects to double its capabilities in the next year through further acquisitions and organic growth.
