The Company
Synexus was formed in April 1998, following the merger of the northern-based Edgebright Partnership of general practitioners and the southern-based clinical trials division of AEA Technology plc. Edgebright began in 1992 when Dr Ian Smith, then a practising GP, bought the house next door to his surgery to provide a dedicated clinical trials centre - the world's first hub site.
In March 2001, its management team, with the support of Aberdeen Murray Johnstone (private equity firm) acquired Synexus.
In November 2005, the company successfully listed on London's AIM.
Synexus has since been taken over by private equity group Lyceum Capital.
